About Read for 15

Read for 15 is a literacy project created by the NWT Literacy Council and adopted by public libraries in Alberta to promote Family Literacy Day. The goal of Read for 15 is to promote the importance of literacy and encourage families and community members to read!

Public libraries participating in this friendly challenge hope to become part of Alberta's "most readerly" community. The challenge is to have the greatest percentage of the community's population read for 15 minutes on Family Literacy Day (January 27).
